Description:The 557-01 is a clock chip designed for use in PCI Express® Cards as a clock source. It provides a pair of differential outputs at 100 MHz in a small 8-pin SOIC package. Using IDT's patented Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) techniques, the device takes a 25 MHz crystal input and produces HCSL (Host Clock Signal Level) differential outputs at 100 MHz clock frequency. LVDS signal levels can also be supported via an alternative termination scheme.

The 557MI-01LFT does not have built-in overcurrent protection. However, you can implement external overcurrent protection using a dedicated IC or a discrete circuit. Renesas recommends using their RL78/G13 or RL78/G14 microcontrollers, which have built-in overcurrent detection and protection features.
While the datasheet specifies an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, Renesas recommends derating the device's performance at high temperatures. For reliable operation, it's recommended to keep the junction temperature below 115°C.
The 557MI-01LFT is not designed for high-humidity environments. Renesas recommends using moisture-resistant packaging and conformal coating to protect the device from moisture. Additionally, ensure that the PCB is designed with humidity-resistant materials and follows proper assembly and rework procedures.
