8737AG-11LF - Renesas Electronics

Description: The 8737-11 is a low skew, high performance Differential-to-3.3V LVPECL Clock Generator/Divider. The 8737-11 has two selectable clock inputs. The CLK, nCLK pair can accept most standard differential input levels. The PCLK, nPCLK pair can accept LVPECL, CML, or SSTL input levels. The clock enable is internally synchronized to eliminate runt pulses on the outputs during asynchronous assertion/deassertion of the clock enable pin. Guaranteed output and part-to-part skew characteristics make the 8737-11 ideal fo

8737AG-11LF Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Renesas provides a recommended PCB layout guide in their application note (R01AN2732EU0100) which includes thermal vias, thermal pads, and heat sink recommendations to ensure optimal thermal performance.
  • Renesas recommends using an external overcurrent protection circuit, such as a fuse or a current sense resistor, to detect overcurrent conditions. The device also has a built-in overcurrent detection feature that can be enabled through the OCP pin.
  • The maximum operating temperature range for the 8737AG-11LF is -40°C to +125°C, but it's recommended to operate within the -20°C to +85°C range for optimal performance and reliability.
  • The 8737AG-11LF has a built-in low-power mode that can be enabled through the EN pin. Additionally, Renesas provides guidelines for reducing power consumption in their application note (R01AN2732EU0100), including reducing the switching frequency, using a lower input voltage, and disabling unnecessary features.
  • Renesas recommends using a 10uF to 22uF ceramic capacitor with a voltage rating of 10V or higher as the input capacitor for the 8737AG-11LF. The capacitor value and type may vary depending on the specific application and input voltage.
