To ensure stability, make sure to follow the recommended layout and component selection guidelines, including the use of a 10uF or larger output capacitor, and a 1uF or larger input capacitor. Also, keep the feedback resistors (R1 and R2) as close to the IC as possible.
The minimum ESR required for the output capacitor is 0.1 ohms. Using a capacitor with a lower ESR may cause instability or oscillation.
While the LT3091 can deliver up to 2A of output current, it's not recommended to use it as a high-current source. The device is designed for low-to-moderate current applications, and using it at high currents may reduce its reliability and lifespan.
