SF2098H Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Murata recommends a symmetrical PCB layout with a solid ground plane and a 50-ohm microstrip line for optimal performance. A 4-layer PCB with a dedicated ground plane is recommended.
  • The SF2098H has a thermal pad on the bottom, which should be connected to a thermal relief pattern on the PCB. A thermal interface material (TIM) can be used to improve heat transfer. Ensure good airflow around the component and consider using a heat sink if necessary.
  • Murata recommends a reflow soldering process with a peak temperature of 260°C (500°F) and a dwell time of 30-60 seconds. Hand soldering is not recommended due to the component's small size and thermal sensitivity.
  • Decoupling capacitors should be placed as close as possible to the SF2098H, with a value of 100 nF to 1 μF. The capacitors should be connected between the power pins and the ground plane, and should be rated for high-frequency operation.
  • The SF2098H is rated for operation from -40°C to +85°C. However, the component's performance may degrade at temperatures above 70°C. Ensure proper thermal management to maintain optimal performance.
