7164L45DB - Renesas Electronics

Description: The 7164 5V CMOS SRAM is organized as 8K x 8. The 7164 offers a reduced power standby mode. The low-power (L) version also offers a battery backup data retention capability at power supply levels as low as 2V. All inputs and outputs of the IDT7164 are TTL-compatible and operation is from a single 5V supply, simplifying system designs. Fully static asynchronous circuitry is used, requiring no clocks or refreshing for operation. Military grade product is available.

7164L45DB Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. Ensure a minimum of 1 oz copper thickness and a thermal relief pattern around the device.
  • Implement a robust thermal management system, including a heat sink and thermal interface material. Ensure good airflow and avoid hot spots.
  • Use 10uF to 22uF ceramic capacitors, placed as close as possible to the device's power pins. Add additional capacitors (e.g., 100nF) for high-frequency decoupling.
  • Implement ESD protection diodes (e.g., 1.5KE6.8A) between the device's I/O pins and the power supply rails. Ensure the diodes are rated for the maximum voltage and current.
  • Use controlled impedance routing, and maintain a consistent signal return path. Avoid vias and sharp corners, and use differential pairs for high-speed signals.
