A symmetrical layout with a central ground plane and minimal signal trace length is recommended. Allegro provides a reference design and layout guidelines in their application notes.
Use a low-impedance current sense resistor (CSR) and ensure the CSR is placed close to the IC. Also, use a Kelvin connection to the CSR to minimize parasitic inductance and resistance.
The maximum allowable voltage on the VCC pin is 5.5V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
