ACST6-7SR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • STMicroelectronics recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended, and the thermal pad should be connected to a ground plane to reduce thermal resistance.
  • To ensure accurate temperature measurement, it's essential to calibrate the internal temperature sensor during production. STMicroelectronics provides a calibration procedure in the application note AN5096. Additionally, the temperature sensor should be shielded from external noise sources, and the PCB layout should be designed to minimize thermal gradients.
  • Although the datasheet specifies a maximum VCC voltage of 5.5V, it's recommended to limit the voltage to 5V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the device. Exceeding 5V may cause permanent damage or affect the device's accuracy.
