ADC-H-010-1 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Adam Technologies recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and thermal vias under the device to dissipate heat. A minimum of 10mm x 10mm of copper area is recommended for heat dissipation.
  • Route the clock signal as a differential pair, and terminate it with a 100Ω resistor at the receiving end. Ensure the clock signal has a clean power supply and is decoupled from the analog supply.
  • Use a low-pass filter with a cutoff frequency below the Nyquist frequency to remove high-frequency noise. A 2nd-order Butterworth filter with a cutoff frequency of 1/3 to 1/2 of the sampling frequency is recommended.
  • Use a synchronizer or a metastability resolver circuit to handle metastability issues. You can also use a FIFO or a buffer to resynchronize the data.
  • Perform a full-scale calibration by applying a known input voltage and adjusting the offset and gain to achieve the desired accuracy. You can also use the built-in calibration feature if available.
