  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the PLL loop filter components close to the device and use a star topology to minimize noise. Refer to the ADI application note AN-873 for more details.
  • The charge pump current (I_CP) should be set based on the desired phase noise performance and the output frequency. A higher I_CP reduces phase noise but increases current consumption. Start with the recommended value of 2.5mA and adjust based on your application's requirements.
