ADT1-1+ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A good grounding scheme is crucial for the ADT1-1+. A solid ground plane and short, direct connections to the device's ground pins are recommended. Additionally, a low-impedance path to the power supply's ground is essential. A 4-layer PCB with a dedicated ground plane is ideal.
  • The ADT1-1+ requires a stable voltage supply and proper biasing. Ensure the Vcc pin is connected to a stable 5V supply, and the Vee pin is connected to a stable -5V supply. The Iset pin should be connected to a 10kΩ resistor to set the current limit.
  • For optimal performance, the input and output of the ADT1-1+ should be terminated with 50Ω resistors to match the device's impedance. This ensures maximum power transfer and minimizes signal reflections.
  • The ADT1-1+ can dissipate up to 1.5W of power. Ensure good airflow around the device, and consider using a heat sink or thermal pad to dissipate heat. The device's thermal pad should be connected to a solid ground plane to aid in heat dissipation.
  • The ADT1-1+ is sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Ensure proper ESD protection by using ESD-sensitive handling procedures, and consider adding ESD protection devices, such as TVS diodes, to the input and output lines.
