  • STMicroelectronics recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended, and the thermal pad should be connected to a ground plane to reduce thermal resistance.
  • To ensure accurate current sensing, it's essential to follow the recommended layout and routing guidelines for the sense resistors (Rsense) and the device's sense pins. Keep the sense resistors close to the device, and use a Kelvin connection to minimize parasitic inductance and resistance.
  • The EN pin can tolerate up to 6V, but it's recommended to keep it within the 0-3.3V range for proper operation. Use a voltage divider or a level shifter if your system's voltage is higher than 3.3V. Ensure the EN pin is not left floating, as this can cause unpredictable behavior.
  • The ALED7709ATR has a built-in POR and BOR. The POR ensures the device resets when the supply voltage (VCC) rises above 2.5V. The BOR resets the device when VCC falls below 2.2V. Ensure your system's power supply is stable and within the recommended operating range to avoid unwanted resets.
