Panasonic recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane for the ATX204. The device should be placed near the center of the board, and the input and output capacitors should be placed as close as possible to the device pins.
The ATX204 has a thermal pad on the bottom of the package. Ensure good thermal contact between the thermal pad and a heat sink or a thermal via on the PCB. Apply a thermal interface material (TIM) to fill any gaps. Keep the ambient temperature below 85°C and ensure good airflow around the device.
The EN pin is a digital input and should not exceed the maximum rating of 6V. However, it's recommended to keep the voltage between 2.5V and 5.5V to ensure proper operation.
The ATX204 is rated for operation up to 85°C. However, the device's performance and reliability may degrade at higher temperatures. If your application requires operation above 85°C, consider using a different device or implementing additional cooling measures.
Start by verifying the input voltage, output voltage, and enable pin (EN) voltage. Check for proper PCB layout, thermal management, and decoupling capacitors. Use an oscilloscope to monitor the output voltage and input voltage ripple. Consult the datasheet and application notes for specific troubleshooting guidelines.
