  • ROHM recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
  • To ensure stable operation with a high-impedance input source, add a 1kΩ to 10kΩ resistor in series with the input pin to prevent oscillation. Additionally, consider adding a 10nF to 100nF capacitor in parallel with the input pin to filter out high-frequency noise.
  • The maximum allowed voltage on the enable pin (EN) is 6V, regardless of the input voltage (VIN). Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
  • The output voltage ripple can be calculated using the formula: ΔVout = (Iout * ESL) / (Cout * fsw), where ESL is the equivalent series inductance of the output capacitor, Cout is the output capacitance, and fsw is the switching frequency.
  • ROHM recommends using a ceramic capacitor with a value of 10uF to 22uF, X5R or X7R dielectric, and a voltage rating of 10V to 25V, depending on the input voltage range.
