A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output traces short and away from noise sources. Use a common mode choke or ferrite bead to filter the input voltage.
Monitor the input voltage, output current, and junction temperature to ensure they are within the specified limits. Use a thermal management system, such as a heat sink, to keep the junction temperature below 125°C.
A 10uF to 22uF X7R or X5R ceramic capacitor is recommended for the input filter. The capacitor should be placed as close to the VIN pin as possible and have a low ESR to minimize voltage ripple.
Use a shielded inductor, keep the switching node (SW) away from sensitive circuits, and add a common mode choke or ferrite bead to the input. Ensure good PCB layout practices, such as separating analog and digital grounds.
The maximum output capacitance is 100uF. Exceeding this value may cause instability or oscillations. Use a low-ESR capacitor, such as a ceramic or polymer capacitor, to minimize voltage ripple.
