DG408CY+ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VDD first, followed by VSS, and then the logic inputs. This ensures proper device operation and prevents latch-up.
  • To ensure proper biasing, connect VDD to a positive voltage supply (e.g., +5V), VSS to a negative voltage supply (e.g., -5V), and the analog signal to the switch terminals. The switch will operate correctly when the control voltage (VCTL) is between VDD and VSS.
  • The maximum voltage that can be applied to the analog signal pins is the absolute maximum rating of VDD + 0.3V or VSS - 0.3V, whichever is less. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
  • To minimize charge injection, use a low-impedance source, keep the analog signal path as short as possible, and use a shielded cable or PCB layout to reduce capacitive coupling. Additionally, consider using a buffer amplifier or a low-input-bias-current op-amp to further reduce the effect of charge injection.
  • To minimize parasitic inductance and capacitance, use a symmetrical layout, keep the analog signal paths short and direct, and avoid running digital signals near the analog signal paths. Use a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane to reduce noise and interference.
