FXLS8964AFR3 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the layout symmetrical and avoid vias under the device. Use a 10nF capacitor between VDD and GND, and a 1uF capacitor between VDDA and GND.
  • Perform a self-test calibration by setting the CAL bit in the control register. The device will then perform an internal calibration and store the results in the calibration registers. This should be done after power-up and after any changes to the operating conditions.
  • Power up the device in the following sequence: VDD, VDDA, and then the digital interface (e.g., I2C or SPI). Ensure VDD and VDDA are stable before accessing the device.
  • Use the STANDBY bit in the control register to put the device into sleep mode. In this mode, the device consumes minimal power. Wake-up is achieved by setting the STANDBY bit to 0 or by an interrupt event.
  • Use a low-pass filter on the analog input pins, and a ferrite bead or a common-mode choke on the power supply lines. Ensure good PCB layout practices, such as separating analog and digital grounds, and using a solid ground plane.
