LA100-P Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A symmetrical layout with a central ground plane and minimal track lengths is recommended. Keep the high-frequency tracks away from the low-frequency tracks, and use a ground plane under the device to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI).
  • Use a burden resistor with a low temperature coefficient, ensure the shunt resistor is close to the device, and keep the measurement cables short and shielded. Also, calibrate the device according to the datasheet instructions.
  • The maximum allowed voltage drop is 100 mV. Exceeding this may affect the accuracy of the current measurement.
  • The LA100-P is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, the accuracy and reliability may degrade above 100°C. Consider using a heat sink or a thermally conductive interface material to ensure reliable operation.
  • Use a fuse or a current limiter in series with the device, and consider adding overvoltage protection (OVP) circuitry to prevent damage from voltage surges.
