  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output capacitors close to the IC, and use short, wide traces for the power lines. Avoid routing sensitive analog signals near the switching node.
  • Use a soft-start circuit to limit the inrush current during startup, and ensure the input voltage ramps up slowly. During shutdown, use a controlled shutdown sequence to prevent voltage spikes and ensure the IC remains within its SOA.
  • A low-ESR ceramic capacitor (X5R or X7R dielectric) with a value of 10uF to 22uF is recommended. The capacitor should be placed close to the IC and connected between the VIN pin and GND.
