  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output traces short and away from each other to minimize coupling. Use a common mode choke or a ferrite bead to filter the input power.
  • Ensure the VCC pin is connected to a stable voltage source between 2.7V and 5.5V. The VBIAS pin should be connected to a voltage source between 2.7V and 5.5V, or tied to VCC through a resistor divider to set the desired bias point.
  • The maximum input power is limited by the package thermal resistance and the maximum junction temperature. As a general guideline, the maximum input power should not exceed 1W. However, this can be increased with proper heat sinking and thermal management.
  • Use the internal matching network to optimize the device for a specific frequency band. The internal matching network can be tuned by adjusting the values of the external components R1, R2, and C1. Use the ADI's Filter Wizard tool or consult the application note AN137 for guidance.
  • Use a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode or a zener diode with a voltage rating greater than the maximum input voltage to protect the device from ESD events. Ensure the ESD protection device is connected as close as possible to the input pins.
