LTM8002HY Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. Keep the thermal pad connected to the ground plane and ensure good thermal conductivity to the surrounding copper.
  • Use a pi-filter configuration with a common-mode choke and capacitors to filter out high-frequency noise. Ensure the filter components are placed close to the LTM8002HY and connected to the input pins.
  • The maximum allowed voltage on the EN pin is 5.5V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
  • Use a soft-start circuit to limit the inrush current during start-up. Ensure the input voltage is stable and within the recommended range before enabling the converter.
