MC1455P1G Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A simple RC circuit with a 10uF capacitor and a 1kΩ resistor can be used to provide a power-on reset to the MC1455P1G. This ensures that the timer starts in a known state after power-up.
  • To ensure stable oscillation, use a high-quality capacitor (e.g., ceramic or film) for C1 and C2, and choose R1 and R2 values that provide a total resistance of around 10kΩ. Also, keep the timer's input pins (2 and 6) away from noise sources.
  • The MC1455P1G can operate up to 2.5 MHz, but the maximum frequency is dependent on the values of R1, R2, C1, and C2. For higher frequencies, use smaller capacitor values and larger resistor values.
  • To use the MC1455P1G as a monostable multivibrator, connect the trigger input (pin 6) to the threshold input (pin 2) through a capacitor. The output pulse width is determined by the values of R1, R2, C1, and C2.
