  • ETI Systems recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias to dissipate heat. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended for the power traces. Additionally, a thermal pad on the bottom of the module should be connected to a heat sink or a thermal interface material to ensure efficient heat dissipation.
  • Use a voltage regulator or a DC-DC converter to regulate the input voltage to the recommended range of 9-36V. Ensure the input voltage is stable and within the specified range to prevent damage to the module or affect its performance.
  • The output current derating for high ambient temperatures is 1.5% per degree Celsius above 40°C. For example, at 50°C, the maximum output current would be 97.5% of the rated current. Consult the datasheet for the complete derating curve.
  • Use a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode or a surge protector at the input of the module to protect it from voltage transients and surges. Ensure the TVS diode or surge protector is rated for the maximum input voltage and has a response time faster than the module's input capacitance.
  • ETI Systems recommends using a low-ESR ceramic capacitor with a value of 10-22uF, rated for the maximum input voltage. The capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the input pins of the module to minimize inductance and ensure stable operation.
