PHA-101+ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A good PCB layout practice is to use a solid ground plane, keep the signal traces short and away from the edges, and use a common ground point for the amplifier's ground pins. A 4-layer PCB with a dedicated ground plane is recommended.
  • The PHA-101+ has a fixed bias, but you can adjust the quiescent current by changing the voltage supply. For optimal performance, adjust the supply voltage to achieve the desired quiescent current, typically between 10-20mA.
  • The PHA-101+ can handle up to +10dBm of input power without damage. Exceeding this limit may cause permanent damage to the amplifier.
  • To ensure stability, use a 10nF to 100nF capacitor between the output and ground, and a 10Ω to 100Ω resistor in series with the output. Additionally, use a low-inductance output circuit and avoid long output traces.
  • The PHA-101+ is designed to operate from -40°C to +85°C. Operating outside this range may affect the amplifier's performance and reliability.
