Bivar recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the PLP2-313, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently.
Use a soldering iron with a temperature of 250°C to 260°C, and apply a small amount of solder paste to the pads. Avoid overheating or applying excessive force, which can damage the component.
The maximum allowable voltage drop is 2.5V, as specified in the datasheet. Exceeding this voltage drop may reduce the component's lifespan or cause it to fail.
While the PLP2-313 is designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures, it's not recommended for use in high-humidity environments (>80% RH) without proper sealing or conformal coating to prevent moisture ingress.
Use an ESD wrist strap or mat, and ensure that all equipment and tools are properly grounded. Avoid touching the component's pins or handling it in a way that could generate static electricity.
