Bivar recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area underneath the device to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 1 oz copper thickness is recommended, and thermal vias can be added to improve heat dissipation.
To ensure reliable soldering, Bivar recommends using a soldering iron with a temperature range of 250°C to 260°C, and a solder with a melting point of 180°C to 190°C. The device should be soldered within 3 seconds to 5 seconds to prevent overheating.
The maximum allowable voltage drop across the PLPC1-500 is 2.5V. Exceeding this voltage drop may lead to reduced performance, overheating, or even device failure.
While the PLPC1-500 is designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures, it is not recommended for use in high-humidity environments. If operation in high humidity is necessary, Bivar recommends applying a conformal coating to protect the device from moisture.
Bivar recommends storing the PLPC1-500 in a dry, cool place with a temperature range of 20°C to 30°C and humidity below 60%. The device should be stored in its original packaging or a similar ESD-protective package to prevent damage.
