  • RECOM recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area for heat dissipation, and a minimum of 2oz copper thickness. A thermal via array under the module is also recommended.
  • Ensure that the input voltage is within the specified range, and that the input capacitance is sufficient to handle the inrush current. A soft-start circuit can also be used to reduce the inrush current.
  • The maximum allowed capacitance on the output is 220uF. Exceeding this value may cause instability or oscillation.
  • While the R12P12S/R8 is rated for operation up to 80°C, it's recommended to derate the output power by 2.5% per °C above 60°C to ensure reliable operation.
