RFSA3714SR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Use a via-stitching technique to connect the ground plane to the power plane. Ensure a low-impedance path to ground for the RF ground pins.
  • Use a low-dropout regulator (LDO) with a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) to minimize noise. Add a 10uF capacitor in parallel with a 100nF capacitor to filter the bias voltage. Ensure the bias voltage is within the recommended range (2.7V to 3.3V).
  • Use a pi-network or a T-network topology for input and output matching. The component values will depend on the specific application and frequency band. Consult the Qorvo application note AN-1234 for more information.
  • Use a thermal pad or a heat sink to dissipate heat. Ensure good thermal conductivity between the device and the thermal pad/heat sink. Keep the ambient temperature below 85°C to prevent thermal shutdown.
  • Use a TVS (transient voltage suppressor) diode or a spark gap protector to protect the device from electrostatic discharge (ESD). Ensure the ESD protection device is rated for the maximum voltage and current of the application.
