RSLP070-24 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Enedo recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area for heat dissipation, and a thermal via array under the module to improve thermal conductivity. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended. Additionally, a thermal interface material (TIM) with a thermal conductivity of 1-2 W/mK should be used between the module and the heat sink.
  • To ensure reliability and longevity, Enedo recommends operating the module within the specified temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Additionally, a proper thermal design, including a heat sink and thermal interface material, should be implemented to keep the module's temperature below 80°C. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the module's environment are also crucial to prevent contamination and moisture ingress.
  • Enedo recommends using low-ESR capacitors with a minimum capacitance of 10uF for the input and output. The capacitors should be rated for the maximum operating voltage and have a temperature rating of at least 105°C. X7R or X5R dielectric capacitors are suitable for this application.
  • Enedo recommends using overvoltage protection (OVP) and overcurrent protection (OCP) circuits to prevent damage to the module. A fuse or a current-limiting resistor can be used for OCP, while a zener diode or a voltage regulator can be used for OVP. The protection circuits should be designed to respond quickly to fault conditions to prevent damage to the module.
  • Enedo recommends a soft-start sequence to prevent inrush currents and reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). The input voltage should be ramped up slowly (typically 10-20ms) to allow the module's internal components to stabilize before enabling the output.
