A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output capacitors close to the IC, and use short and wide traces for the power lines.
Ensure that the output capacitor is within the recommended range (22uF to 47uF), and the ESR is within the recommended range (0.01Ω to 0.1Ω). Also, make sure the input voltage is within the recommended range (4.5V to 18V).
The RT8258GE can provide up to 3A of output current, but it's recommended to derate the output current based on the ambient temperature and the input voltage.
The output voltage can be adjusted by changing the resistor divider ratio (R1 and R2) connected to the FB pin. Use the formula: Vout = 0.8V x (1 + R2/R1) to calculate the output voltage.
The EN pin is an active-high enable pin. When EN is high, the regulator is enabled, and when EN is low, the regulator is disabled. Connect EN to VIN or a logic signal to control the regulator's operation.
