A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output traces as short as possible and use a common mode choke to reduce EMI.
Mount the S1M-HF on a heat sink with a thermal conductivity of at least 1 W/m-K. Ensure good airflow around the heat sink and keep the ambient temperature below 40°C.
The maximum allowed voltage drop is 1.5V. Exceeding this may cause the device to malfunction or reduce its lifespan.
The S1M-HF is rated for operation up to 85°C. However, derating the output current and voltage is recommended for temperatures above 70°C to ensure reliability.
Check the input voltage, output voltage, and current. Verify the PCB layout and component placement. Use an oscilloscope to check for voltage ripple and noise. Consult the datasheet and application notes for guidance.
