A symmetrical layout with a central ground plane and short traces is recommended. Keep the input and output traces separate and avoid crossing them. Use a 4-layer PCB with a dedicated power plane and a dedicated ground plane.
To ensure stability, use a minimum output capacitance of 10uF with an ESR of less than 1 ohm. Additionally, use a low-ESR input capacitor and keep the input voltage ripple below 1%.
The maximum allowed input voltage ripple for S2A is 1% of the input voltage. Exceeding this limit may affect the output voltage stability and regulation.
S2A is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, the device's performance and reliability may degrade at high temperatures. Ensure proper thermal management and consider derating the output current at high temperatures.
Use a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode or a varistor at the input to protect S2A from voltage surges and spikes. Ensure the TVS or varistor is rated for the maximum input voltage and has a response time faster than the S2A's internal protection circuitry.
