Sensirion recommends a reflow soldering profile with a peak temperature of 260°C, a dwell time above 220°C of 30-60 seconds, and a cooling rate of 4°C/s or slower.
Store the SHTC3-TR-10KS in a dry, nitrogen-filled package or a vacuum-sealed bag with a desiccant packet to maintain a relative humidity below 20%. Avoid exposing the sensor to moisture, high temperatures, or physical stress during shipping and storage.
Sensirion provides a recommended PCB layout and land pattern in the datasheet, which includes a minimum pad size of 1.3 mm x 1.3 mm, a solder mask opening of 0.5 mm, and a non-solder mask defined (NSMD) pad shape.
The SHTC3-TR-10KS is calibrated during manufacturing, but you can perform a one-point calibration for temperature and humidity using the sensor's built-in heater and a reference thermometer and hygrometer.
Power up the SHTC3-TR-10KS by applying VCC first, followed by a delay of at least 10 ms, and then applying the clock signal. Power down the sensor by removing the clock signal first, followed by a delay of at least 10 ms, and then removing VCC.
