Sensirion recommends a reflow soldering profile with a peak temperature of 260°C, a dwell time above 220°C of 30-60 seconds, and a cooling rate of 4°C/s or slower.
To enter sleep mode, send the 'sleep' command (0xFF) to the sensor. The sensor will then enter a low-power state, consuming approximately 100 nA. To wake the sensor, send any valid command.
Place the SHTC3 near the edge of the PCB to minimize the impact of thermal gradients. Ensure good thermal coupling to the PCB by using a large copper area under the sensor. Avoid placing components that generate heat near the sensor.
The SHTC3 is calibrated during manufacturing, but you can perform a one-point calibration for temperature and humidity using the 'reset' command (0xFE) and then adjusting the offset values accordingly.
The maximum cable length for I2C communication with the SHTC3 is approximately 30 cm (12 inches) due to the capacitance of the cable, which can affect signal integrity.
