A thermal pad on the bottom of the package should be connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
Ensure proper heat sinking, keep the device away from heat sources, and avoid exceeding the maximum junction temperature (Tj) of 150°C. Use a thermal interface material (TIM) between the device and heat sink if necessary.
The maximum SOA is defined by the voltage and current ratings. Do not exceed 40V for Vds and 3A for Ids. Operating within the SOA ensures reliable operation and prevents damage to the device.
