Cosel recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area for heat dissipation, and a minimum of 2 oz copper thickness. A thermal via array under the module can also improve heat dissipation.
To ensure reliable start-up, Cosel recommends a soft-start circuit to limit the inrush current, and a sufficient input capacitance to stabilize the input voltage.
The maximum allowed capacitance on the output is 220uF. Exceeding this value may cause instability or oscillation.
While the SUS1R50505C is rated for operation up to 80°C, Cosel recommends derating the output power by 2.5% per degree above 60°C to ensure reliable operation.
To troubleshoot output voltage deviations, check the input voltage, output load, and ambient temperature. Verify that the output voltage is within the specified range, and adjust the trim pin if necessary.
