TSKS5400S Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A thermal pad on the bottom of the device should be connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. The copper area should be at least 1 inch² (6.45 cm²) and connected to a ground plane or a heat sink.
  • Use a soldering iron with a temperature of 250°C to 260°C (482°F to 500°F) and a solder with a melting point of 180°C to 200°C (356°F to 392°F). Apply a small amount of solder to the thermal pad and reflow it according to the recommended soldering profile.
  • The maximum allowed voltage on the gate-source pin is ±20 V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
  • Handle the device in an ESD-protected environment, use ESD-protective packaging, and ground yourself before handling the device. The device has an internal ESD protection diode, but external protection is still recommended.
  • The recommended operating frequency range is up to 100 kHz. However, the device can operate at higher frequencies, but with reduced performance and increased power losses.
