  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the high-current paths short and use wide tracks for the power lines. Decouple the device with a 10uF capacitor and a 100nF capacitor in parallel.
  • Use a heat sink with a thermal resistance of 10°C/W or lower. Apply a thin layer of thermal interface material (TIM) between the device and the heat sink. Ensure good airflow around the heat sink and avoid blocking the airflow.
  • The maximum allowed voltage on the input pins is 40V, but it's recommended to keep it below 35V to ensure reliable operation and to prevent damage to the device.
  • Use a TVS diode or a zener diode to clamp the voltage and prevent overvoltage. Add a fuse or a PTC resettable fuse to protect against overcurrent. Implement a current sensing circuit to monitor the current and shut down the device if it exceeds the maximum rating.
  • A 10uF to 22uF X7R or X5R ceramic capacitor is recommended for the input. The capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the device and connected between the input pin and the ground pin.
