A thermal pad is recommended under the package to improve thermal performance. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended for the thermal pad, and it should be connected to a large copper area to dissipate heat efficiently.
To ensure reliable start-up, a soft-start circuit can be implemented to limit the inrush current during power-up. A capacitor can be added in series with the input voltage to slow down the voltage rise time and prevent excessive inrush current.
A low-ESR ceramic capacitor with a value of 10uF to 22uF is recommended for the input capacitor. The capacitor should be placed as close to the device as possible to minimize noise and ensure stable operation.
