HLMP-3401 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A thermal pad on the bottom of the package should be connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat. A 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with thermal vias is recommended.
  • The EN pin should be tied to a voltage source (e.g., VCC) through a resistor to ensure the driver is enabled. The VCC pin should be decoupled with a capacitor to reduce noise.
  • The maximum LED current is 350mA per channel, but this can be increased by paralleling multiple channels. However, thermal considerations should be taken into account to avoid overheating.
