  • Broadcom recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias to dissipate heat. A thermal pad on the bottom of the package should be connected to a thermal plane on the PCB.
  • Use a low-noise, high-PSRR power supply with a minimum of 1A current capability. Decouple the power pins with 10uF and 100nF capacitors, and add a 10uF capacitor on the AVDD pin.
  • Use a single 25MHz clock input, and let the internal PLL generate the required clock frequencies. Ensure the clock signal has a low jitter and is routed close to the device.
  • Use a reset IC or a discrete reset circuit with a 10kΩ pull-up resistor and a 100nF capacitor. Ensure the reset signal is active-low and has a minimum pulse width of 10ms.
  • Configure the GPIO pins as inputs or outputs according to the application requirements. Use pull-up or pull-down resistors as needed, and ensure the GPIO pins are not left floating.
