ICS-52000 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • TDK recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane for the ICS-52000. The device should be placed near the center of the board, and the input and output capacitors should be placed as close as possible to the device.
  • TDK recommends using a 10uF ceramic capacitor with a 0.1uF ceramic capacitor in parallel, placed as close as possible to the VCC pin of the ICS-52000. Additionally, a 10uF electrolytic capacitor can be used on the output of the device.
  • The maximum input voltage that can be applied to the ICS-52000 is 6.5V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
  • The output voltage of the ICS-52000 can be adjusted by connecting a resistor divider network between the VOUT pin and the GND pin. The output voltage can be calculated using the formula: VOUT = 0.8V x (R1 + R2) / R2, where R1 and R2 are the resistors in the divider network.
  • The thermal derating curve for the ICS-52000 is available in the datasheet. The device is rated for operation up to 125°C, but the output current must be derated above 85°C to prevent overheating.
