LMV791MK Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Texas Instruments recommends a star-grounded layout with a single-point ground connection to minimize noise and ensure stability. Additionally, keep the input and output traces separate and as short as possible to reduce noise coupling.
  • To ensure stability, the output capacitor should have an ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) of less than 1 ohm. Additionally, the capacitor should be placed as close to the output pin as possible and the traces should be kept short to minimize inductance.
  • Although the datasheet specifies an absolute maximum input voltage of 15V, it's recommended to limit the input voltage to 12V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the device.
  • The LMV791MK is rated for operation up to 125°C, but its performance may degrade at high temperatures. It's recommended to derate the output current and voltage according to the temperature derating curve provided in the datasheet.
  • To reduce noise and ripple, add a 10uF to 22uF ceramic capacitor in parallel with the output capacitor. Additionally, use a low-ESR output capacitor and keep the input and output traces separate to minimize noise coupling.
