Nexperia recommends a PCB layout with a solid copper plane on the bottom layer, connected to the thermal pad of the PMEG3010BEA, to ensure good heat dissipation. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
Nexperia recommends using a soldering profile with a peak temperature of 260°C (500°F) and a dwell time of 30-60 seconds. The device should be soldered using a solder with a melting point above 217°C (423°F).
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum input voltage of 5.5V, Nexperia recommends limiting the input voltage to 5V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the device.
The thermal pad should be connected to a solid copper plane on the PCB to ensure good heat dissipation. A thermal interface material (TIM) can be used to improve thermal conductivity. The thermal pad should not be soldered directly to the PCB.
Nexperia recommends using a ceramic capacitor with a value of 1-10μF and a voltage rating of 6.3V or higher. The capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the input pins of the PMEG3010BEA.
