  • Murata recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and thermal vias under the device to dissipate heat. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended for the top layer. Additionally, a thermal pad on the bottom of the device should be connected to a heat sink or a thermal interface material.
  • To ensure stability, follow the recommended component values and PCB layout in the datasheet. Additionally, ensure that the input and output capacitors are of high quality and have low ESR. A minimum of 10uF input capacitance and 22uF output capacitance is recommended. Also, avoid using long traces and minimize the loop area of the power stage.
  • The maximum allowed voltage deviation on the input voltage pin (VIN) is ±10% of the nominal input voltage. Exceeding this limit may affect the device's reliability and performance.
  • The PWR70C has built-in OCP and SCP features. To implement these features, connect the OCP pin to a resistor divider network that sets the overcurrent threshold. For SCP, connect the SCP pin to a resistor divider network that sets the short-circuit detection threshold. Refer to the datasheet for specific implementation details.
  • The recommended startup sequence is to apply the input voltage (VIN) first, followed by the enable signal (EN). This ensures that the internal voltage regulators are properly initialized before the device becomes active.
