Allegro recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and a separate layer for the power supply. Keep the sense lines short and away from noise sources. Use a ferrite bead or a 10-ohm resistor in series with the power supply to reduce noise.
When the device is in power-down mode, the output voltage is undefined. To avoid any potential issues, it's recommended to add a pull-down resistor (e.g., 10 kohm) to the output pin to ensure it's at a defined state.
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum VCC of 5.5V, it's recommended to limit the voltage to 5V to ensure reliable operation and to prevent potential damage to the device.
To ensure accurate current sensing, use a low-impedance sense resistor (e.g., 1 mohm) and keep the sense lines short and away from noise sources. Also, ensure the sense resistor is properly soldered and not damaged during assembly.
Although the datasheet specifies an operating temperature range of -40°C to 150°C, it's recommended to operate the device within a range of -20°C to 125°C for optimal performance and reliability.
