AD574ATD Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • The recommended power-up sequence is to apply the analog power supplies (VCC and VEE) before applying the digital power supply (VDD). This ensures that the analog circuitry is powered up before the digital circuitry.
  • The AD574ATD outputs data in a 16-bit, 2's complement format. The most significant bit (MSB) represents the sign bit, and the remaining 15 bits represent the magnitude of the output code. The output data can be easily converted to a more conventional format, such as offset binary or fractional binary, using simple arithmetic operations.
  • The SYNC pin is used to synchronize the conversion process with an external clock signal. When the SYNC pin is low, the AD574ATD is in a low-power standby mode. When the SYNC pin is high, the AD574ATD begins a new conversion cycle. This pin can be used to synchronize multiple AD574ATD devices or to synchronize the conversion process with an external event.
  • To minimize noise and interference, use a low-noise power supply, keep the analog and digital grounds separate, use a ground plane, and keep the signal traces short and shielded. Additionally, use a capacitor to decouple the analog power supply and use a ferrite bead to filter the digital power supply.
  • The maximum throughput of the AD574ATD is 100,000 samples per second (SPS) at a clock frequency of 10 MHz. However, the actual throughput may be limited by the system's ability to handle the output data.
