  • A good layout and routing practice is to keep the analog and digital grounds separate, use a solid ground plane, and keep the analog and digital signals separate. Also, keep the input signals away from the digital signals and use shielding if possible. Refer to the ADI application note AN-931 for more details.
  • The AD7606BSTZ-4 has an internal calibration process that can be initiated by setting the CAL pin high. The calibration process takes about 100 μs. During this time, the device is not available for conversions. It is recommended to calibrate the device after power-up and after any changes to the reference voltage.
  • The recommended power-up sequence is to power up the analog supply (AVDD) first, followed by the digital supply (DVDD), and then the reference voltage (VREF). This ensures that the internal analog circuits are powered up before the digital circuits.
  • The AD7606BSTZ-4 has an overrange and underrange detection feature. When an overrange or underrange condition is detected, the OVR and UND pins will be set accordingly. The user can then take action to adjust the gain or input range to prevent data loss.
