AD7660ASTZRL Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • The recommended power-up sequence is to power up VDD first, followed by VREF, and then the clock signal. This ensures that the internal reference voltage is stable before the conversion starts.
  • To minimize noise and ensure accurate conversions, it is recommended to keep the analog and digital grounds separate, use a solid ground plane, and keep the signal traces short and away from noise sources. Additionally, decoupling capacitors should be placed close to the power pins.
  • The maximum sampling rate of the AD7660 is 500 kSPS, but this can be limited by the clock frequency, the conversion mode, and the output data rate. The datasheet provides more information on the sampling rate limitations.
  • When using the serial interface, the output data should be clocked out of the device on the falling edge of the SCLK signal. The data should be latched on the rising edge of the SCLK signal. The datasheet provides more information on the serial interface timing.
  • The CAL pin is used to initiate the calibration cycle of the internal reference voltage. To use it, the CAL pin should be pulled low for at least 100 ns to initiate the calibration cycle. The device will then calibrate the internal reference voltage and return to normal operation.
