ADZS12112 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital signal traces separate and avoid crossing them over each other. Use a decoupling capacitor (e.g., 10uF) close to the VCC pin to reduce noise.
  • Calibrate the sensor by measuring the temperature with a reference thermometer. Use a thermocouple or a platinum RTD as a reference. Ensure good thermal contact between the sensor and the object being measured. Avoid self-heating by minimizing the current drawn from the sensor.
  • The maximum cable length for the I2C interface depends on the clock frequency and the capacitance of the cable. As a general rule, keep the cable length below 1 meter for a 400 kHz clock frequency. Use a twisted pair cable with a shield connected to GND to reduce noise.
  • The POR and BOR are internal reset mechanisms that ensure the sensor starts up correctly. To handle them, add a capacitor (e.g., 10nF) between the VCC pin and GND to filter out noise. Use a voltage supervisor or a reset controller to monitor the power supply and reset the sensor if necessary.
  • The recommended operating temperature range for the ADZS12112 is -40°C to 125°C. However, the accuracy of the temperature measurement may degrade at extreme temperatures. Consult the datasheet for specific temperature-related specifications.
