The recommended soldering temperature for BPW46 is 260°C (500°F) for a maximum of 10 seconds.
BPW46 is rated for operation up to 100°C (212°F). While it can tolerate short-term excursions up to 150°C (302°F), prolonged exposure above 100°C may affect its performance and lifespan.
Handle BPW46 by the edges to prevent damage to the sensitive photodiode surface. Store them in a dry, dark place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid touching the photodiode surface or exposing it to chemicals.
Keep the PCB layout simple and compact to minimize noise and interference. Use a ground plane to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). Ensure the photodiode is connected to a low-impedance node to minimize signal reflections.
BPW46 is not hermetically sealed, so it's not recommended for use in high-humidity environments. If you must use it in a humid environment, ensure the device is properly sealed or coated to prevent moisture ingress.
